It's the big puzzle competition weekend.

Josie and Kerri were travelling to the Gold Coast for the big puzzle competition. Richard, Elliot and I were following later to see how they were getting on.

These competitions are not really spectator sports so after a quick look to see how the puzzles were progressing Richard, Elliot and I retired to the beach, after a quick lunch. A beautiful sunny day! Cyclone Alfred had hit the Gold Coast full on in February and Richard thought they had lost maybe 6-8 feet of sand.

Leaving the puzzlers to there task we went on to the Art Gallery where we spent an hour in the children's gallery colouring in items which built up into a 3D living room. Richard did the rug. I did the plants, teapot and teacup to go on the table and Elliot did the main structure. It looked pretty good when we finished.

We then dragged Elliot round a gallery of music posters which meant nothing to him but Richard and I enjoyed. Then it was the long drive back to Brisbane for us. Kerri and Josie were staying with friends near the Gold Coast.

In the foyer of the gallery was a very smart Mercedes sports car.  It was full of water so we hoped that no-one would open the doors.
