busy weekend

Saturday, Josie was continuing her birthday celebrations with her friends. In the afternoon six girls were locked in an escape room with one hour to solve the puzzles to open the door. They completed the task with just 2 minutes to spare. Then it was on to the Botanic Gardens for doughnuts. When Richard and I arrived to help ferry the girls home they were playing 'weddings' but the 'bride' kept running away so the others had to catch her. They were obviously having a great time together.

While the girls were enjoying their afternoon together Richard, Elliot and I had a trip to the cinema with Elliot's friend Arie.

Sunday was an early start for Josie for her 2nd 'practice' walk in preparation for her sponsored walk in June. All kitted out with her new walking shoes. Her team is called the 'Jelibens' (
Josie, Eleanor, Lucas, Ivy and Ben - who is their maths teacher) Unfortunately Ivy was unable to join them for this practice walk.

Josie was leaving the walk early as she had another party to go to in the afternoon. However, she did complete 14 of the 17 kms planned. It seemed it involved a lot of scrambling up and down steep slopes this time.

Josie and Elliot had both been invited to the party in the afternoon which was at a trampoline park. They were both tired by the time they come home, especially Josie.

The logo for the team was designed by Josie and her friend Ivy. The initial letter had been done in that persons favourite colour.

While Josie and Kerri were walking Richard, Elliot and I made our first visit to Toowong Cemetery where about 44 of Norman's ancestors are buried. HE It is a huge cemetery covering about 44 hectares and is set on the side of a very steep hill. We had listed the positions of all the plots but that didn't make it any easier. Elliot found the first set of graves but we couldn't find any more and after about an hour decided to call it a day. Maybe I will make a return visit later to see if I can find a few more.
